India won the title of the 2018 Asia Cup by winning the last game of the final against Bangladesh on Friday in Dubai.
Asia Cup 2018-Captain Rohit Sharma has scored 48 runs, while MS Dhoni 36, (67) and Dinesh Karthik 37, (61) took their time in middle, what was ultimately a tense win, with 223 runs. Ravindra Jadeja kept his cool in the fighting at death overs.
Kedar Jadhav was injured but came back after the fall of Jadeja’s wicket to see his team at home with a need for the last ball. Jadhav managed a pass next to Mahmudullah’s game to clinch the title. Asian Cup 2018
The total number of 222 runs from Bangladesh was made possible by a splendid century of Liton Das, which made 121 balls of 117 balls.
The Tigers surprised everyone with their opening partnership between Das and Mehidy Hasan.
And it worked even better than the most ardent supporters of Bangladesh would have hoped. The two added 120 for the first position with Das taking the role of the aggressor while Hasan, the hitter at the tip of the alleged pinch, fought, scoring 32 to 59 balls.
But the introduction of the part-time bowler Kedar Jadhav (2-41 from nine overs) changed the course of the match, as it has already happened, as he picked up the Hasan wicket and the Mushfiqur Rahim (5) 139-4.
Das recorded his first score of more than 50 runs in the ODI in his 18th match and recorded a superb 121 of 117 balls. Soumya Sarkar got the third highest score while India picked up 10 wickets for 102 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav (3-45), left wrist, was the other main player, while Bangladesh lost three wickets at the expense of the final.
In the pursuit, India attacked from the first stint but lost the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Rayudu before the total reached 50. However, the regular contributions of all the teams exceeded them.

Das was well placed after scoring his first century when he was deceived by Kuldeep. Dhoni made a quick search. The third referee took a long time to decide if part of the foot was behind the crease. On any other day, Das could have benefited from the doubt because he was extremely close. But the referee delivered it.
India was very successful in defending itself after the top 20 but failed to pick up a box office. Looking at a total of about 300, India picked up 10 wickets for 102. In the pursuit, they lost two early drummers but did not lose their temper. No player scored fifty but they still chased 223. Well done.
The Tigers had a centurion in their side and they fought to the end. But they should have easily scored more than 270 after being 120 without any losses in the 21st over. They did not cash on it .
Asia Cup 2018
Rohit Sharma, Indian captain: We played some good cricket throughout the tournament and this is the reward of all the hardwork throughout the tournament. I have been part of games like this before and credit to the guys in the middle to handle the pressure and to cross the finishing line was a fantastic effort. You have to give some credit to Bangladesh. They put us under pressure in the first 10 overs. We thought if the ball got older, the spinners would do the work for us. It was important to keep it tight and we have done that well throughout the tournament. If you have a team like that, the captain will always look good. It wouldn’t be easy if we didn’t have the support of the remaining 10 players, so I am really proud of the boys. I would like to thank the crowd, who have come out in huge numbers to support us throughout the tournament and I’m sure they’re going back extremely pleased.
Mashrafe Mortaza, The Bangladesh Captain: I hope we won a lot of hearts. We fought till the last ball, but we made a lot of mistakes on the field today batting and bowling. We bowled really well, particularly if we made 240+ throughout the tournament. We asked the batsmen to make at least 260, but at the end of the day the bowlers did really well. I was asking the bowlers, but I wanted to bowl the quicks first, because I wanted to restrict the runs since they were going after us and trying to play shots at that stage. I wanted to leave the last over for Nazmul or Mahmudullah. I thought if the pacers bowled well from 45th over, then there was a good chance that there would be about 10 runs to defend in the last over.
Shikhar Dhawan, Man of the Tournament (342 runs): Yeah I enjoyed this tournament. Fantastic final. Good tournament for me, enjoyed my batting, and hope to continue the same way. I enjoy playing it in a cool and matured manner. I was playing more calmly this time, and I want consistency and elegance at the same time. Rohit and I keep switching the aggressor’s role sometimes, and I congratulate him for having a fantastic Asia Cup 2018 too.
