MS Dhoni receives country’s third highest civilian award

Former team captain MS Dhoni receives country’s third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan from the President of India Ramnath Kovindh. He walked as an army man and received the award on the same auspicious day where he has won world cup exactly 7 years ago.

After India won the World cup, the Indian Territorial Army had conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Dhoni.

Dhoni is the second cricketer of India who has received this prestigious award after Kapil Dev.

Dhoni who has won the ICC trophies like ICC World Cup 2011, ICC Champions Trophy and T-20 World Cup as a captain of India. Earlier Dhoni had won Padma Sri award in 2009, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007 and ICC ODI player of the year in 2008 & 2009.
